A MedsCheck is a structured medicine review offered by pharmacists, including at Example Pharmacy 3, for eligible patients managing multiple long-term medicines.
What is a MedsCheck and am I eligible?
A one-on-one review with your pharmacist covering all the medicines you’re taking, to check they’re working well together and that you understand how to use them.
It’s an unhurried review of everything you’re taking, and helps you understand how your medicines work together.
This service may be suitable if you:
Any recommended changes to your medicines should be confirmed with your prescribing doctor.
Be prepared to discuss:
Your pharmacist will go through your full medicine list with you ina private, unhurried conversation.
The review may also include a summary of recommendations, sharedwith your GP with your consent.
Will my GP be told what happens in my MedsCheck?
Only with your consent - your pharmacist can offer to send a summary to your GP, but it's your choice.
How often can I get one?
Generally once every 12 months, per program guidelines.
Is there a cost for this service?
MedsCheck is funded under the relevant goverment program for eligible patients - Example Pharmacy 3 can confirm your eligibilty and if there is any cost.
