• Have any of the signs above, localised to one area

This isn’t suitable for widespread or severe psoriasis, or other forms of psoriasis (such as psoriatic arthritis) — these need GP or specialist assessment.

Psoriasis treatment plans are individually assessed, and what’s appropriate can change as flare-ups come and go.

Your pharmacist will assess your individual suitability, including your relevant medical history and current symptoms, before proceeding. 

This consultation is for mild, localised plaque psoriasis flare-ups only; widespread, severe, or other forms of psoriasis need assessment by a GP or dermatologist. 

Ask your pharmacist for the relevant Consumer Medicines Information (CMI) if a medicine is provided.

Before Your Consultation

Be prepared to discuss:

• Where the flare-up is affecting you
• Your current skincare or treatment routine
• Any medicines you are currently taking

During Your Consultation

Your pharmacist will assess your skin and psoriasis presentation before determining whether treatment can be provided.

The consultation may also include a prescribed treatment plan where appropriate, or a referral to your GP or a dermatologist if more severe.

What if my psoriasis is widespread or severe?

You’ll be referred to your GP or a dermatologist, as this is outside the scope of this consultation.

Does this cover psoriatic arthritis?

No — joint symptoms need assessment by your GP.

Can this help with psoriasis on my scalp?

This depends on the extent and location — ask your pharmacist, as scalp psoriasis can sometimes need a different treatment approach.
